USPS – Vehicle Maintenance Facility
Project Description
The USPS maintenance facility services the area’s entire fleet with 16 service bays, a wash bay, and a service parts counter. A 30,000-square-foot metal panel building for equipment and tool storage augments the facility. Due to site instability, the foundations were on piles with pile caps and spread footings on top. The structure was a one-story, lightweight steel frame with a composite metal panel enclosure and an EPDM rubber roof. The floor of the service bays was a high-quality, no-mar epoxy finish. With an exposed ceiling in the bay areas, surfaces and pipes were color-coded with a high-gloss finish.
