Kimpton Hotel Monaco

The historic Lafayette Building in the Old City neighborhood of Philadelphia was converted into Hotel Monaco, a luxury boutique hotel brand for Kimpton Hotels and Restaurants. Overlooking Independence Mall, the 270-room hotel features an upscale restaurant, a ballroom, and over 12,000 square feet of meeting space. It was the first hotel to be located directly on the Mall. The signature Hotel Monaco theme is a brightly colored, whimsical space celebrating the world traveler. The client’s eco-friendly focus influenced the Hotel Monaco’s development and incorporated environmentally-conscious practices into its design and operations. The hotel achieved LEED Gold for Commercial Interiors.
