Project Description

The Clark is a multi-family residential development in West Philadelphia. The six-story u-shaped building includes 327 units and 92 parking spots, with dedicated charging stations for electric vehicles and 154 parking spots for bicycles. With proximity to Philadelphia’s Market-Frankford El line, residents have many options for transit. The building shares a block with the West Catholic Preparatory High School, and includes subtle architectural features of color and texture to pay tribute to the neighboring building’s aesthetic using a contemporary palette.

The Clark holds historical significance, sited adjacent to its namesake, the TV studio where Dick Clark first gained national acclaim as the host of American Bandstand. The building is located in a dense West Philadelphia neighborhood with limited green space. To enliven the block, the project incorporates street trees and a public pocket park along Chestnut Street. The park serves as both an open garden space for the neighborhood and as an amenity for the building’s residents. Additional amenities include a fitness studio, co-working space, a game room, interior bike storage, and a rooftop patio.
